The Bera family farm is found in the small village of Neviglie in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. It is at the heart of winemaking in this region where the roads are flanked with rolling hills lined with vineyards. Winemaking is a centuries old tradition for the Bera family but it was the 1970s when they started producing wines under their name. Bera have balanced these strong traditions by continuing to modernize their winery. Nonetheless, their passion for these traditions drives their commitment to produce wines of the highest quality.
Bera’s Moscato d’Asti is one of their flagship wines. It has a yellow straw like colour with an aroma that holds well in the glass and a well balanced sweetness. It has won several awards. Antonio Galloni, creator of Vinous, an influential wine blog, scored it 89 out of 100. Similarly, Decanter magazine awarded Bera’s Moscato d’Asti a silver medal with a score of 91 out of 100.
In fact, Bera’s significance in the production of Moscato d’Asti was made clear when one of Italy’s most esteemed wine reviews chose Mr Bera for their front cover as the representative for the Moscato DOCG.
This wine means a lot to us here at Moscato Life. We discovered this when the idea for Moscato Life was in its early stages. The feeling we felt when we first opened the bottle and tasted it won’t be forgotten. It was our lightbulb moment. Struggling to find a proper Moscato d’Asti in UK supermarkets we came across this. We loved the sweet refreshing taste. Yet, more than this, the feeling of discovering something new was so impactful that it pushed us to make our idea of Moscato Life, a reality.
